The Garden Club at Palm Coast proudly announces Joao and Neuza Lemeiro of Freemont Turn as The Selection of the Month for May 2026. Previously, from New Rochelle, NY, they made Palm Coast their new home.
Their garden stands out as the first to be discovered since last December that withstood the extended cold weather and rain, suffering minimal frost damage.
This garden of the month was selected for its curb appeal and the stunning display of vibrant red amaryllis, pink leaf caladium, pink bougainvillea and snake plant. Its thoughtfully arranged flower beds make it a standout in the neighborhood, creating a welcoming and picturesque scene for visitors and passersby alike.
The back yard proved to be just as impressive with several fruit trees such as:
fig tree, loquats, olive tree, pear tree, 2 persimmons, avocado, and 2 orange trees. Their vegetable and herb gardens are abundant with pole beans, string beans, collard greens, and lettuce. For herbs: parsley, cilantro, basil, bay leaf, and corn. Even these gardens had some vibrant red amaryllis.
The Lemeiro gardens are not merely a collection of plants, but a reflection of their love for nature and beautifying their community.
