On April 24th and 25th was the Annual St. Augustine Garden Club Flower Show. This year’s title: “A Century of Flowers”, celebrating the centennial of the The Garden Club of St. Augustine. The Show was held in the St. Johns County Library on US 1 in St. Augustine.
The show presented four divisions: I Design, II Horticulture, III Education, IV Botanical Arts.
There were five participants from The Garden Club at Palm Coast in Division I – Design.
The Arrangers’ Guild was well represented
Linda Hensler displayed her design in Class 7,
In the ‘Still’ of the Night, Exhibition Table Design.
First Prize: Blue Ribbon!
Kelley Callery presented in Class 2,
The Flapper’s Garden, Abstract Design
Second Prize: Red Ribbon.
Andrea Rogers, Pat Malak and Janet Roberts, participated in Class 9,
Champagne Brunch, Tray Design For One

There was one participant from The Garden Club at Palm Coast in Division II – Horticulture.
Marinus Grootenboer brought 11 plants and 1 plant cutting on water.
Entries included 5 Bromeliads, 3 Orchids, 2 African Violets, 1 Tillandsia (air plant) and 1 cutting of a Cordyline “Kiwi”.
The plants did very well and scored 5 first, 4 second, 2 third prizes and 1 Honorable Mention. In Addition to that, my good old Tillandsia bartramii and Neoregelia “Shamrock” each won a Grower’s Choice Award. Click on a photo to enlarge
After two successful shows the Tillandsia is glad to be back in his tree 🙂
