    October 15, 2024 – 2nd Meeting:

Linda Hensler, Director, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

Linda agreed to continue as Director if she has help from members.

Linda announced that we will be honoring Sue Bara for several meetings.

The class had an interest in making some Ikebana designs. Linda will see if she can get an instructor for a future class.

There is a Fall Arts Festival November 9th 10:00 to 3:00 Central Park in Town Center, Andrea Rogers volunteered to help Linda Hensler get it organized for the participation of the Arrangers’ Guild.

Our next class November 19th will be on making your own Thanksgiving arrangement.

Jane Howell made a lovely Petite arrangement with dried flowers that was critiqued by Linda and the class. Great job Jane!

November 2024 Selection of the Month

The Garden Club at Palm Coast has recognized Vee Gomes and Robert Villarino of Felton Place as the November 2024 Garden Selection of the Month.

Vee Gomes and Robert Villarino – November 2024 Garden Selection of the Month

This lovely couple moved to Palm Coast 2 years ago from New Jersey. They have transformed their yard from a blank slate to a stunning display.

Foxtail ferns, the red crown of thorns and blue my mind border their beautiful, paved driveway and walkways. A mailbox with a flower box has colorful portulacas that welcome you to their alluring gardens.

Topiary Chinese junipers flank the garage and front porch. The front yard continues with hibiscus, mammy crotons, Moses in the cradle, Christmas palm, variegated schefflera, firebush, white bird of paradise, and a beautiful flowering curcuma ginger.

A paved walkway meanders through the side yard of this corner lot, where there is a continuation of many varieties in front, plus orange bird of paradise and canna lilies. The side yard is bordered by several viburnum hedges.

This well-manicured landscape truly deserves this month’s curb appeal Selection of the Month!
