Scholarship Program 2018

The Garden Club offers scholarships to high school seniors, and college freshman, sophomores and juniors who qualify and reside in Flagler County and who will pursue further studies in the areas of agriculture, horticulture and the environmental sciences.

In order to be considered for a scholarship applicants will need to fill out a form and submit an application package to the club. All applications for the 2018 scholarships have to be received by January 15, 2018.

Creekside Festival 2017

The 13th Annual Creekside Festival originally scheduled on October 7&8 was postponed due to the heavy rains and flooding in early October.

The festival did take place on November 11 and 12 at Princess Place Preserve, a beautiful state park worth visiting in any season.

 

 

 

The Garden Club at Palm Coast had hundreds of plants for sale.

A very successful weekend!! Most plants were sold!!!

 

 

Thanks to all volunteers who propagated the plants and made various other products.

Also thank you so much to everyone selling the merchandise as well as the crew for building up and breaking down the booth.

Cooking with Herbs

At our November Club meeting the guest speaker Ruth Micieli made an excellent presentation on Cooking with Herbs.

She  discussed a variety of herbs and showed examples. Ruth provided many tips on growing and preserving herbs and the application of herbs in cooking. On top of that she prepared multiple dishes for us to sample. Yummy!!!!

It was a wonderful event. Clearly a lot of preparation went into the presentation and demonstration. Thank you so much Ruth!!!

Ruth makes the discussed recipes available to all club members.

Club Meeting November 2017

The Garden Club at Palm Coast will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. November 13th (sign-in begins at 12:30 p.m.) at the Flagler County Extension Service, 150 Sawgrass Road, Bunnell.

Ruth Micieli will discuss “Cooking with Herbs”.

There will be a raffle for a floral design, plant sale and door prizes as well as light refreshments.
