On November 13th members of The Garden Club at Palm Coast paid a visit to Maggie’s Herb Farm in St. Augustine. The group took a 1.5 hour class on herbs in the greenhouse, which was also attended by the farm’s resident parrot “Maggie” and several roosters, hens and baby chicks. Dora and Michael, owners of Maggie’s, are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to herbs and their uses in medicine and cooking. After class the group strolled the farm and purchased several different herbs, perennials and trees. Once the cars were packed with all of our purchases, it was off to The Outback Crab Shack for lunch on the patio overlooking the St. Johns River. It was an awesome way to spend the day with old and new friends. This trip is a definite to be repeated!
