The Garden Club at Palm Coast organized a motor coach trip to the 44th Annual NGOS Tour of Hidden Gardens in Savannah.
Forty-two garden club members from Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Melbourne attended the self-guided tour of nine beautiful gardens “hidden” behind the gates of historic homes.
Included in the tour ticket was A Southern Tea at the Green-Meldrim House where General Sherman headquartered during the Civil War.
Everyone toured the area at their own pace over the 2 days and were able to hop-on and hop-off the Savannah Old Town Trolley to visit the gardens, shop at local shops, eat at fabulous restaurants or just stay on the trolley for a 90-minture narrated tour of Historic Savannah.
Many of the Palm Coasters dined together at Belford’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant in City Market Friday evening enjoying a lovely meal under the canopy of trees and sharing where everyone had ventured.
The second day many gathered again to experience Paula Dean’s Southern cuisine at Lady & Sons Restaurant which was within walking distance of the hotel.
The 3-hour motor coach ride back to Palm Coast was abuzz with everyone sharing their experiences.
The next trip with The Garden Club at Palm Coast is a 10 night cruise from March 7, 2020 to the Panama Canal on Princess Cruise line. Garden tours in Jamaica and Costa Rica are being planned. For more information, see the Club’s home page.
