Selection of the Month of June

The Garden Club at Palm Coast proudly recognizes Barb Osborne of Universal Trail as The Selection of the Month for June 2026.

Barb Osborne is a lifelong gardener, also a member of The Garden Club at Palm Coast, who loves flowers and has lived in Kansas, St. Croix, Colorado and now Palm Coast.

Her home was selected for its beautiful front yard, highlighted by bright red amaryllis.

The front yard began as a blank slate and is now being thoughtfully transformed.

  • The original podocarpus bushes were removed from the front yard and successfully replanted in the side yard.
  • A paver walkway was added to enhance the landscape.
  • A bench and a high-top seating area create an inviting space to relax.
  • Vibrant pots filled with salvias, sweet potato vines, and agapanthus add color and texture.

The flag pole is surrounded by beautiful blue delphiniums and mondo grass which attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bumblebees.

The backyard, completely bare 3 years ago, has been beautifully redesigned to include a charming she shed with air conditioning and heat. Barb also shared her artistic side—she enjoys painting there when she wants to relax.  Behind the shed there is a sink and potting tables.

The backyard also features an arbor garden centered around a life-size statue Barb calls “Lilly,” noted for its striking features and expressive eyes.

Plantings in this area include pink honeysuckle, bougainvillea, mandevilla vine, white vinca, sun patients, marigolds, jasmine, and ligustrum. Barb also had planted 11 varieties of palm trees with her favorite being the Sylvester palm.
