Our Scholarship Recipients – Jasper Donoso

I wanted to give an update on how things are going for me at UCF. I’ve been really enjoying my time here and thought I’d let you know how my experience has been so far.

I’ve adjusted well to life at UCF, and one of the highlights has been joining the LEAD Scholars Program, where I’m learning more about leadership. It’s quickly become one of my favorite classes. As a LEAD Scholar, there are a lot of LEAD events I can attend, and they even have a calendar that makes it easy to see what’s coming up. I’ve already been able to attend a lot of events, such as a Henna event where one of my friends drew a design on my hand and a bracelet-making event for suicide prevention.

The program has also connected me with volunteering opportunities, such as Love Serving Autism, which was a really positive experience. I also discovered that they had a scavenger hunt at the library, which was a cool and fun way to get to know the space better. In addition, I rented a camera from the library and went around campus taking photos. I’ve attached some of those photos below.

Overall, I’ve been having a great time at UCF. I’ve been riding my bike around campus a lot, and I’m excited to join clubs next semester. I’m also looking forward to continuing to attend LEAD events and staying involved in volunteering.

Thank you again for your support, it truly means a lot and has helped make my experience at UCF so meaningful.

Sincerely, Jasper Donoso
