September 2019 Yard Selection of the Month

Hildegard Benedick of Crosstie Court has been recognized as September 2019 Garden Selection of the Month by The Garden Club at Palm Coast.

Mrs. Benedick moved from Virginia to Palm Coast in 2004 to the gated community of Grand Haven.  She is an avid gardener and has made her front yard a colorful butterfly friendly garden. Gardening is one of her favorite hobbies in addition to competitive ballroom dancing!

Her front yard is small due to living in a gated community, however, this yard has an abundance of plants and flowers consisting of Bougainvillea, purple Salvias, red and pink Petunias, blue Delphinium, yellow Gerbera daisies, pink and purple Gazania, Coreopsis, butterfly loving yellow and orange milkweed, Blue Daze, orange and yellow Zinnias, red Penta, and purple and white Phlox which the deer love to eat.  She has also incorporated some curly leaf Parsley and Sage into her garden. The front door area has a cute Gnome amongst the hedges riding his bright green dune buggy.

The lush green back yard has a variety of palms along with some Firecracker and Fire Spike plants. There is another Gnome inside his tree house sitting on his recliner chair enjoying this tranquil back yard.

Along the right side of the garage there are hedges of Podocarpus bushes with Blue Daze and pink Vinca.
