Meet the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs

Did you know that the Garden Club at Palm Coast is part of something much bigger? We’re proud to be one of the 150 federated clubs that make up the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (FFGC).

FFGC got its start back in 1924 and became officially federated in 1925, thanks to the vision of its founding clubs in Halifax Country, Miami, Jacksonville, and Winter Park. Today, it’s grown into a statewide organization with over 10,000 members, all connected by a love of gardening, nature, and community.

At its heart, FFGC is about supporting local garden clubs like ours. Their volunteer-led Board of Directors provides programs, resources, and projects that strengthen clubs and encourage members to get involved not just locally, but at the state level too. Every spring they host their annual meeting and convention, which is a chance for members from across Florida to gather, share ideas, and celebrate the joy of gardening.

The mission of FFGC is wide-reaching. They focus on education in everything from gardening, horticulture, and floral design to conservation, landscape design, and civic beautification. They’re passionate about encouraging youth to discover the love of gardening, and they also promote honoring U.S. Veterans with memorials and landscaped gardens. Most importantly, membership is open to everyone—gardening is for all, and everyone has a place at the table.

Being part of FFGC connects us to a larger community of people who care about our environment, our neighborhoods, and the simple joy of nurturing plants. We encourage our members to take a look at all that FFGC has to offer by visiting their website at ffgc.org/About.
