Beth and Bill Knisely of Wellsley Lane have been selected for the January 2022 Selection of the Month by The Garden Club at Palm Coast.
The Knisely’s are from Oxford Ohio where they had five acres. Beth was a secretary to the city manager and Bill was an associate VP of finance. When they retired Beth became a pet sitter as she loves animals. They moved to Palm Coast 16 years ago. All the pavers and stone areas were put in by Bill. Throughout their gardens are several trees planted in memory of past pets.
You are welcomed at the front porch area by a diversity of colors: bromediads, red Mandevilla, hosta, firecrackers, plumbago, purple pentas, society garlic, purple mums, trailing bellflower (Campanula poscharskyana), red Ixora, bottle brush, 2 tones of pink vincas, and Japanese spindle(Euonymus japonicus).
The front of the house has Chinese fringe flower, split-leaf philodendron, coreopsis, large foxtail ferns, elephant ear (Colocasia), Loropetalum chinense (sizzling pink), an oak tree surrounded with variegated liriope, azaleas, agave, blue green junipers, tower red Ixora, lantanas, prickly pear cactus (Opuntia), ligustrum, Mexican petunias, and Dracaena.
The back yard has beautifully formed split philodendron, bird of paradise, firecrackers, agapanthus, yellow mums, plumeria, red fire hibiscus, elephant ear, hydrangeas, Petra croton, jatropha (red blossoms), magnolias, white bird of paradise, mondo grass, saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), and queen palms.
Mother nature does not know it’s the month of January, with all the colors and diversity in this beautiful landscape.
