Laura and Antonio Oliveira of Boyd Place have been recognized as January Selection of the Month by The Garden Club at Palm Coast, They moved to Palm Coast from Massachusetts in 2009.
Laura does most of the garden work and she loves to plant trees throughout the yard.
Front yard has variegated yellow leaf Arboricola bushes, a small leaf Magnolia tree, several types of succulent Cactus that grow under the canopy formed by native palm trees.
Corner lot has pink Roses, pink Crown of Thorns, Wandering Jew, Asparagus Ferns, Fuchsia Hibiscus, a large colorful Croton, Bird of Paradise, Blue Daze plant, Camellias and a large leaf Magnolia tree.
Patio area has potted pink and red Crown of Thorns and a beautiful fully bloomed pink Christmas Cactus. There are purple and white Orchids, a beautiful red Hawaiian Sunrise, as well as red and white striped Amaryllis plants.
The back yard displays rows of fruit trees such as Figs, Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruits, Papayas, Meyer lemon trees, and several Holly berry trees. She grows Cabbage, Tomato plants and herbs such as Parsley, Mint and Dill.
This corner lot is a show case of greens with various palms and cactus within the islands.
