Flower Arranging Competition Successes in St Augustine

The EPIC Celebration of Spring Annual Flower & Garden Expo April 1-2, 2017 was held at the extension service in St Augustine in conjunction with the master gardeners. Many garden related items were for sale especially plants. The flower show which included designs and horticulture was held at the same time.

Two of our club members competed in the flower arranging competition.

Linda Hensler‘s flower arrangement won 1st place.

Linda reports: “The theme for the show was Mad Hatters Garden Party. The section I was in was One Will Make You Small. My class was Twiddledee and Twiddledum. A small creative arrangement using 2 containers not to exceed 8″ in any direction. This was a Florida Federation of Garden Clubs flower show with certified judges.”

Sue Bara created a table arrangement which won 3rd place.

Sue says:  “The event was Alice through the looking glass. My category was Tea for Two, a functional table. My arrangement consisted of petite roses in various pinks and small green mums. I used non matching tea cups and saucers and a Paisley overlay.”

Congratulations to both winners!

Well done!!
