DESCRIPTION:Joy of Bonsai will have an event on February 3-5\, 2023 at Schley’s Bonsai and Supplies\, 2745 Audubon Avenue\, Deland\, FL. 32720. This is an excellent event for Garden Club Members to participate in. \nBonsai is a combination of horticulture and art. At the event\, there will be a bonsai exhibit with a critique of each bonsai on display and workshops and demonstrations by bonsai artists. The entrance fee for all three days is only $15.00/per person. The daily fee for Saturday or Sunday is $10/per person. That entitles the attendee to observe both workshops and demos\, participate in auctions and raffles and purchase from vendors.

DESCRIPTION:Our speaker in March was Jason Schley\, owner of Schley’s Bonsai Nursery in DeLand. He will be giving a “Beginning Bonsai” workshop on Monday\, April 24 from noon-2:30 at the VFW pavilion. The fee is $50\, which includes all the materials needed to make a bonsai. There will be a short meeting\, installation of the 2023-2024 officers of the club\, and presentation of scholarship funds to the High School recipients. The rest of the time –  mingle and have fun with your fellow members. \nThis is a potluck luncheon. IF YOU HAVE NOT called in your RSVP to SUE BARA\, please call her (1-904-826-6850) to let her know you are coming and let her know what you are bringing.   \nTea\, Water\, and Lemonade will be provided. NO desserts\, please (a cake is being ordered). \nThe potluck menu has plenty of salads\, appetizers\, and sides.  We can still use some main course items such as sandwiches (you can get two loaves of bread and prepare one loaf with whatever kind of sandwich you are preparing and use the 2nd loaf for the topper of the sandwich.  \nPLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING SERVING UTENSILS FOR YOUR DISH.
